Edgard Rivera/Chief Engineer
Puerto Rican by birth and New Yorker shortly thereafter,
Edgard Rivera has always been involved in music. From his childhood, Rivera has
organized and performed in rock bands, Salsa and Andean ensembles, and folk
duos and solo performances, always as lead vocalist. He has created and
performed music for film and award-winning videos, won first place in the 1986 Austin Songwriters Competition, and was
acclaimed “best producer” by the New Mexico Mic Awards. He has owned a professional home
recording and production facility in Mexico, created TuCasa Studios in New
York, and ushered both a retail store and two studios into the digital age.
In 2002 Rivera bought Taj Pro Audio Services, a small Santa
Fe ProTools project studio. Rivera renamed the facility Rancho Digital
Recording Studio and proceeded to remodel and upgrade the studio into a
three-room professional ProTools HD facility. Under Rivera, Rancho Digital
quickly produced an award-winning album with the Latin ensemble Nosotros. In
2003, while Rivera was earning his Operators Certificate For Music Recording,
Rancho Digital partnered with Stepbridge Studios. Three years later, Rivera
took ownership of the entire operation.
In two
short years, Rivera transformed Stepbridge Studios into a powerhouse of
music recording and film production projects. His team has welcomed back an
impressive list of local artists, producers and directors, and created the
innovative live music show “The Indie Lounge at Stepbridge,” which airs and
streams on INDIE 101.5.
